SERVE Letter October 2022

When natural disasters strike, many of us are left feeling like helpless bystanders as we wait and watch from afar. While those in Florida hunker down or travel to safety from hurricane Ian, those of us outside of the danger zone may wonder if there’s any way to provide support for those who are worried or scared. The most important thing that we can do as believers is to pray. While that may not sound like “doing” a lot, there is immense power in presenting our requests to God and interceding on behalf of our brothers and sisters. Please join us in praying for all of the families who have been affected by Hurricane Ian.

Heavenly Father,

We pray that your hand of protection be over Florida right now and throughout these next few days. For those staying, we ask that your powerful protection is with them through the storm. For those evacuating, please provide them with a safe route. We know that you are more powerful than any hurricane or natural disaster that comes our way. Remind them that you are our rock, fortress, and deliverer (Psalm 18:2). We lift every single person in the path of this storm up to you. May you protect them and guide them to safety with your wisdom.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is a Global nonprofit organization that funds type 1 diabetes research. Brookstone is honored to work with their local chapter every year during their annual One Walk. We reached out to our local representative and asked for them to share how you could help today:

“The JDRF One Walk is your chance to show the world that together, we can conquer type 1 diabetes (T1D). If you're living with T1D or love someone living with T1D, you'll likely do just about anything to make life easier. This year, we have three options for celebrating our strength as a community. Take a walk at one of the fun locations across the state! Register and choose the date and location that works best for you!
