Tarrant Home
This home once belonged to the grandparents of Lori Whitcomb (our owner’s wife). The family discovered the home had fallen into disrepair, purchased it and tasked Brookstone with its restoration. The Brookstone team (employees and subcontractors) worked diligently on it for the past year, many volunteering their time and services. Once restored, it was furnished and donated to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home (ABCH) to be used for respite care and special events. Brookstone is looking forward to serving alongside ABCH as foster children and their families are treated to fun-filled days fishing and camping on the property.
The Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries mission is to protect, nurture, and restore children and families through Christ-centered services. ABCH has many different avenues that they work in including their Family Care Ministry. Their Family Care ministry provides safe and stable homes to help struggling mothers and their dependent children to get back on their feet. This program provides a mother and her children transitional housing while she gains or maintains employment, saves money, receives counseling, and learns life skills such as budgeting and healthy parenting techniques. Depending on their commitment to the program, mothers may stay for up to one year.
